Homemade Xmas Cookies

Homemade Xmas Cookies

That special time of the year is nearly here! The Christmas spirit brings out the best in us, from an early age. From the display of beautiful decorations everywhere you go to the classic Mariah Carey “All I want for Christmas” song on loop, you just know it’s time to get on the hype train!

This week we bring you a special recipe, so you have enough time to prepare, in case you were in doubt about what seasonal goodies to bake for your friends and family! This year we’re going to go with some seasonal cookies! We guarantee you they’re delicious and healthy as they should be! We got you covered in the no regrets department. Plus, they’re so easy to make!

Alright, enough chit-chat, let’s get into it with these Orange and Cinnamon Cookies:

 What you’ll need:

  • 120g of whole wheat flour (you can use normal wheat, spelt flour, or whichever you prefer most);
  • 60g of coconut oil or butter;
  • 1 tablespoon of orange scraps;
  • 2 tablespoons of orange juice;
  • 2 spoonfuls of honey;
  • Cinnamon powder as needed (or some bits of dark chocolate)

Preparation:

  1. Once you’ve gathered all the ingredients you need, preheat your oven to 180 degrees/ or 365º F;
  1. Grab a bowl and mix your coconut oil with the honey and the orange juice;
  1. Afterwards, you can add into the mix the whole wheat flour and the orange scraps, repeating the process and combining them all together;
  1. Now it’s time to shape them into cookies, piece by piece. Your kids can also help you in this part l so they taste even better later!
  1. Time to place them on the tracing paper and let your oven do the magic. Leave them there for 10-15 minutes and they’re ready to go!

For some additional fun and in case your kids love them, which they most certainly will, why not leave some for Santa Claus during the night, along with a glass of milk? This way you can safeguard some for yourself while keeping the magical tradition alive!

 We’ll see you next week!
